POEM: 'In Amongst My Diminishing Stock of Days'

'In Amongst My Diminishing Stock of Days'

In amongst my diminishing stock of days,
the only good ones are the ones with you:
at home, or walking round a town somewhere,
searching for bookshops and for Roman ruins.
I'm too old now to try to seem to be
what I never was, like when the bosses loved me.
