An Excellent New Song Being The Intended Speech Of A Famous Orator Against Peace by Jonathan Swift

I wrote a kind of Swiftian poem a while ago and when I posted it no one got what I was doing with the rhymes or the satire. Seemed to think I wrote it like that because I was childish and didn't know how to write a good modern free verse poem like people have been doing for a hundred years. But I love the eighteenth century satirical mode, especially as it was practised by Swift - Pope is a little more sophisticated. Poetry like that is part of the British cultural DNA like old fiddle tunes about lords deflowering maidens and Tom the Strapping Farming Lad.
