last night at nikki's

a buddha in a santa hat.
a guitar propped up
at the bottom of the bed.
a lot of photos in boxes
that she took out
and showed me.
sleeping in my clothes
when she didn’t want sex.
her window in the morning
on the cold, cold road.
hungover and smelly,
too sick to chance
an arctic dip in the bath.
coffee as the day broke,
listening to her mate’s
shitty music downstairs.
not wanting to leave, but
knowing something was different.
last night at nikki’s.
i just shoulda gone home.

Stop bugging people with your phoney money-making scams and get off my page.

Hi
I have never met you or barb, but I like your poetry even if you don't make any money from home by writing it. Does barb write poetry? Does barb write anything besides spam?

How goes. Enjoyed the poem and the easter haiku, too. We are expecting a few inches of snow tonight - farther south and east could get a foot or more.

spring?

but the gulls have returned to their natural habitats - the dumps and parking lots of fast food restaurants and the ravens have been doing the mating thing - so maybe soon

I am so eager for spring I've already bought my spring shorts. Two pairs, actually. (They were in a sale.) Our clocks went forward on Sunday so we're now officially in British summertime. And it IS noticeably warmer, which is pretty wonderful.

To be truthful I feel pretty horrible right now. But when I get home and pass through the hippie shop underneath my flat I intend to buy a flute and spend the evening making inharmonious sounds to cheer myself up.

ah, but those inharmonious sounds will be your sounds and that is okay

we have had sun and 40's this week - but still have a lot of snow cover

still the college kids in Houghton have been out jogging in their shorts for the last week -
