God Interview

I once read a magazine that did an interview with God. The first question they asked Him was, "What's Bob Dylan really like?"

I've seen Dylan in concert three times in the past five years, thank God! He's the great poet of our time.

Couldn't agree more. He's the main reason I started writing. I've never seen him live, though. I could never find anyone who wanted to go. Something tells me I'd better hurry up.

I should go alone, shouldn't I? But Bob always plays a long way from here, so it'd be a big trek, with an overnight stay, and...but so what? Okay, next time I'll go!

I'd heard he was unpredictable at best on stage. But doesn't the consensus seem to be that the average these days is better than it used to be, now that Bob has sung the Devil out of his throat (or whatever it was he said cured him in "Chronicles")?

You know, I know a lot of guitar players and not one of them knows what he means in "Chronicles" when he talks about redefining his guitar style by playing in "thematic triplets"...the musicians I know all say that's another of Bob's coyote-ish jokes designed to amuse him and puzzle everybody else. I love that about our Bob.
